ASCEM currently has established single particle analysis pipeline for the protein macro-molecule structure determination. Depending on sample categories and certification of an applicant, using steps of instrument may slightly be different. For any questions, please contact us via the EMAIL cryoem@gate.sinica.edu.tw.
Service Overview
 
The facility provides three modes of technical support: basic, advance, and collaboration (technical R&D). User may make a note for the support if needed when submitting an application online. However, if requests are overloaded for staffs, only Basic support will be provided.
 
Experiment Workflow
 
To increase effectiveness of obtaining high resolution structure data, it is recommended to sequentially apply the equipment.
CEM1 is an electron microscope operating under room temperature. CEM2/3/4 are different ranks of CRYO-electron microscopes, and Vitrobot is the equipment for sample preparation.
Before using Vitrobot, users need to take training courses and obtain certification. Certified users can independently use the facility during working days from Monday to Friday, excluding national and public holidays.

To promote the academic research and the application of cryoEM, and under the recommendations of DAAIS, both AS and non-AS academia users share the same charge scheme and discount from August 1, 2023 in accordance with the announcement in the ASCEM User Committee Meeting held on July 18, 2023.
